FAQ
Here, we have gathered and answered the most common questions we receive from our members. If you cannot find the answer to your question here, you can always email us at kx@disk.su.se
Payment
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept card payments at the Student Union Office, the café and Foo Bar. DISK no longer accepts cash.
We accept the following cards:
- MasterCard
- Visa
- Maestro
- American Express
- Diners Club
- JCB.
I would like a refund for my membership. How do I request one?
Unfortunately, membership fees are non-refundable. This is stated in our statutes, which you can find here.
SSSB
Why has my place in the SSSB housing queue been put on hold?
There may be several reasons. The most common are that you are not a member of DISK or that you are not registered as a student at Stockholm University or DSV. To use your DISK membership for SSSB’s housing queue, you must be studying and registered at Stockholm University or DSV.
It may also be because you have used a different email address with DISK than the one registered with SSSB. In that case, SSSB cannot verify your DISK membership.
It is your responsibility to make sure that you meet these requirements. If you have checked your email address and confirmed that you are registered for courses but are still experiencing problems, you are welcome to contact us at kx@disk.su.se.
Studentkortet
I have not received my Studentkort. How do I get it?
Your Studentkort is sent to the Studentkortet app and should appear there within 48 hours of your payment. We no longer send physical cards, as we want to reduce our environmental impact. However, you can apply for a physical card at Studentkortet.se.
To view the card in the app, you may need to log out and log back in. There is also a button in the corner that allows you to refresh the card. Your card should display the DISK logo to confirm your membership.
If more than 48 hours have passed, visit the Student Union Office or email kx@disk.su.se , and we will help you.
Why have I received a Studentkort?
Studentkortet serves as both your DISK Student Union membership card and your student ID. It is therefore proof that you are a member of DISK, which you need to show to receive membership discounts at the Student Union Office, the café and Foo Bar.
You also need the card to prove that you are eligible for student discounts, such as the student discount on your SL travel card. When you become a member of DISK, your card should display the DISK logo.
I am a member, but the DISK logo is not displayed on my Studentkort. How do I get it?
If the DISK logo is not displayed on your Studentkort, you may need to refresh the card. You can do this by tapping the small button in the corner of the card view. If that does not work, try logging out and then logging back in. Please also keep in mind that it may take up to 48 hours for your membership to be registered.
If it still does not work, there may be an issue with your membership. In that case, email kx@disk.su.se and we will help you find out what went wrong.
Why have I not received an email from Studentkortet?
Once you have registered and paid for your membership, an email will be sent within two to three days. The email contains the login details you need to access the Studentkortet mobile app. Sometimes the email ends up in your spam folder, so make sure to check there.
Why is the SL logo not displayed on my Studentkort?
To be eligible for the student discount on an SL travel card, you must study at a rate of at least 75%—22.5 credits per semester—and your study rate must be registered with Stockholm University or DSV before you become a member. If the SL logo is still not displayed on your Studentkort, visit the Student Union Office or contact us at kx@disk.su.se.
What discounts do I get with Studentkortet?
Studentkortet offers a wide range of discounts at many different shops and businesses. You can find all available discounts at studentkortet.seTo look for a specific discount, search their website for the shop or product you are interested in.
Other questions
Why is my old address still registered with DISK after I changed it?
Our membership register is updated against the Swedish Population Register approximately twice a year. The easiest way to update your address with DISK is therefore to email your new address to kx@disk.su.se. Remember to include your Swedish personal identity number. You can also visit the Student Union Office and complete an address change form.
I have lost my access card. How do I get a new one?
If you have lost your access card, you must pay for a replacement at the Student Union Office. You will receive a digital receipt, which you should email together with your SU username to passerkort@dsv.su.se. DSV will then handle the matter, and you will be able to collect your new access card according to their instructions.
This only applies if you have lost your access card. If your card is damaged, DSV will replace it free of charge.
